Garmin GPS suction cup mount: what to look for
A good Garmin GPS suction cup mount holds the navigation device securely on smooth glass or a flat dash and keeps the screen in view without blocking the road. Look for a cup mount with a lever lock and sticky gel, an arm you can adjust without tools, and a 17 mm ball compatible with your cradle. Clean the surface before you attach it; rinse the cup when its grip fades.
Check the ball size
Most Garmin automotive cradles end in a 17 mm ball. Large dēzl OTR, RV 890+ and some DriveSmart models use bigger balls and won't fit; each product lists the exceptions.
Where to mount a GPS
Some states restrict windshield mounts; cup-holder and dash mounts keep the glass clear and the screen in easy reach.
GPS Mounts: questions
Is the cradle included?
No — these are bases for your existing Garmin cradle.
Will it fit TomTom?
The clamp dock holds most portable GPS units without a cradle.
Will the adhesive come off?
It is meant to stay; use suction or cup holder mounts for removable setups.
