Fit check before you order

Most returns come from a base that doesn't suit the car. Two minutes here saves that.

• Suction: smooth glass or a hard, smooth dash; use the sticky pad on textured surfaces.
• CD slot: straight, visible slot not touching the gear lever.
• Cup holder: round holder 3–4.6 in across.
• Adhesive: flat, hard area at least 3.15 in square — never leather.
• GPS: Garmin cradle with a 17 mm ball.
• Ball systems: match 20 mm with 20 mm, 1 in with 1 in.
