Choosing a MagSafe car mount
A MagSafe car mount uses the magnet ring in iPhone 12 and newer to snap the phone into place and align the wireless charging coil, so the phone charges the moment it touches the mount. Look for strong magnets with real ratings — N52 to N55 — a stable base that suits your car (CD slot, dash suction or cup holder) and enough adjustment to set the viewing angle. Our magnetic mounts hold the phone securely on rough roads and through hard braking, and MagSafe-compatible cases keep the hold.
Magnetic mount or clamp charger?
Magnetic MagSafe mounts are the quickest to use: one hand on, one hand off. The auto-clamping cup holder charger suits Android phones and older iPhones, closing its arms around the phone and charging it over Qi. Both are sturdy, convenient and leave the windshield clear.
Why the adapter matters
Wireless charging in a car is limited by the socket. Use a PD 18W or QC 3.0 car adapter — or the one in the box — to reach the full rated speed.
Heat and cases
Charging coils warm up; tempered-glass faces and vents help. Thick or metal-backed cases slow or stop charging.

Why does charging stop?
Centre the phone or magnetic ring on the coil and remove thick cases.
Is Qi2 faster?
